The United States removed seven Russian citizens and two cargo ships from the sanctions list. This was reported on the website of the American Ministry of Finance.
Sanctions were lifted from Ivan Potanin, the son of billionaire and one of the main owners of Nornickel Vladimir Potanin, member of the supervisory board of Sovcombank Mikhail Klyukin and Maxim Smirnov, as well as Russian dry cargo ships Vyacheslav Arshinov and Gennady Egorov.
In addition, German Belous, Irina Kremlev, Viktor Nikolaev and Nadiya Cherkasova were excluded from the sanctions list. According to Forbes, all of them are former top managers of Otkritie FC (sanctions against the bank were introduced in February 2022).
Earlier, the United States lifted sanctions against the former head of Otkritie FC, former Minister of Finance Mikhail Zadornov, as well as former member of the board of directors of Otkritie FC Andrei Golikov and ex-member of the supervisory board of this financial organization Elena Titova. They were removed from the sanctions register due to their resignation from their positions at Otkrytie FC.
Two Turkish companies were also released from sanctions. They fell under secondary sanctions, most likely for helping Russia circumvent restrictive measures.
