Apple has removed VK apps from the App Store

Apple has removed VK group applications from the App Store, the VKontakte press service said .

The media previously reported that VK applications disappeared from the App Store. Currently, the VKontakte, Zen, Odnoklassniki, Mai.ru, Skillbox, VK Video, VK Messenger, VK Music and VK Dating applications are not available for users to download.

The VK press service stated that Apple unilaterally removed the applications without warning. The company considered such actions “unmotivated and unacceptable.”

“With its actions, Apple limits Russian users’ access to popular services that are used by tens of millions every day: social networks, instant messengers, video platforms, email and educational products. Apple’s actions will result in users not receiving push notifications about messages and important events,” VK emphasized.

Apple has not yet commented on the removal of applications.

Apple has previously removed VK applications from Apple Pay. The company explained that the developers are under the control of parties subject to UK sanctions. The applications were later restored.
