In Ingushetia, a court fined a local resident for failure to report a crime: according to investigators, he allegedly did not report his acquaintances, who in 2023 were accused of attacking a traffic police post on the border of the Nazran district of the republic and the Prigorodny district of North Ossetia.

The convicted person is 32-year-old Adam Kotiev. As stated in the verdict, in March 2023, he communicated with a local resident named Eldiev, who told him that he himself and Mikail Moshkhoev allegedly swore an oath to the terrorist Islamic State “for the purpose of committing grave and especially grave crimes.” According to the security forces, Kotiev decided not to report this to law enforcement agencies.

The case of non-reporting was considered in a special manner, that is, without a detailed examination of the evidence - due to the defendant’s admission of guilt. Kotiev was given a fine of 25 thousand rubles.

On the night of March 28, 2023, several men fired at the Volga-14 traffic police post on the border of the Prigorodny district of North Ossetia and the Nazran district of Ingushetia. As a result, two police officers were injured . Interfax, citing data from the Russian FSB, named the names of those suspected of involvement in the attack on police officers. Among them, according to security officials, were Mikail Moshkhoev, Ramazan Eldiev, Amir Bokov and Amirkhan Gurazhev. All four are natives of Ingushetia. The body of Eldiev, wounded in a shootout with security forces, was later found in Karabulak.

Moshkhoeva is accused of participation in an illegal armed group and in the activities of a terrorist organization, promoting terrorism, encroaching on the lives of law enforcement officers, as well as illegal trafficking in weapons and explosives.

  • On the evening of April 3, 2023, in Malgobek, unknown persons, presumably the same persons who participated in the attack on the police post, fired at police officers, wounded one of them and disappeared; a counter-terrorist operation regime was introduced in the area. On the night of April 5-6, a shootout occurred in the village of Zyazikov-Yurt, Malgobek district - three police officers were killed and eight more were wounded. Four suspects continue to be sought.
