The Ministry of Justice recognized the human rights movement “Crimean Solidarity” and “Echo” as “foreign agents”

The Crimean Solidarity movement, which helps victims of political repression in Crimea, and the journalistic project Echo were recognized as “foreign agents.” Information about this was published on the website of the Ministry of Justice.

In addition to them, the list also included the media group “Autonomous Action” and sociologist, founder of the Extreme Scan research agency Elena Koneva. According to the Ministry of Justice, they all disseminated false information about Russian politics and collaborated with publications and journalists who were recognized as “foreign agents.”

In the case of “Crimean Solidarity,” the Ministry of Justice separately noted that the movement “interacted with members of international terrorist organizations, as well as with government authorities of Ukraine.” The project itself regularly writes about the prosecution of Crimean Tatars in cases of involvement in the Islamist party Hizb ut-Tahrir, recognized as terrorist.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Justice, the Foreign Broadcasting project was also excluded from the list of “foreign agents” due to its liquidation.
