The US military launched strikes on Iran in response to Tehran's attack on a merchant ship sailing through the Strait of Hormuz under the flag of Singapore. This was reported by the US Central Command (CENTCOM).
The strikes targeted Iranian missile and drone storage sites, as well as coastal radars, the report said.
“The unjustified aggression of Iranian forces against commercial shipping has clearly violated the ceasefire. Moreover, Iran's dangerous behavior has undermined freedom of navigation as trade increasingly flows through this vital international trade corridor,” US commanders said.
Axios correspondent Barak Ravid, citing an American official, reported that the United States is carrying out strikes in the Strait of Hormuz.
