The authorities of the Irkutsk region introduced a high alert regime due to fuel shortages

A high alert regime is being introduced in the Irkutsk region due to problems with providing the population with fuel. Irkutsk Governor Igor Kobzev wrote about this on social networks. He noted that police officers and National Guardsmen will be stationed at gas stations to keep order in queues and prevent the sale of fuel by hand.

The official also recommended that companies that are not involved in the life support of the population transfer employees to remote work.

At Rosneft gas stations in the region, a limit on the sale of fuel is being introduced - no more than 50 liters per car. Other gas stations are allowed to set stricter limits. Dispensing gasoline into cans and other containers is prohibited.

"All the measures that we are now taking are aimed at stabilizing the situation as quickly as possible. We hope that starting next week we will be able to see the results," Kobzev added.

It was previously reported that in the Irkutsk region, due to long queues, dry toilets will be installed near gas stations.
