A high alert regime has been introduced in the Irkutsk region to prevent an emergency due to the gasoline crisis, announced the head of the region, Igor Kobzev.

The governor recommended that the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the department of the Russian National Guard “ensure compliance with public order in queues.” He noted that it is necessary to prevent and suppress attempts to sell fuel that “go against the law.” In addition, it is necessary to organize patrolling of the place where fuels and lubricants are sold.

At gas stations of the Rosneft network, the sale of fuel to drivers was limited to 50 liters per day per car. Other gas stations may set a limit less than this volume, Kobzev said.

In addition, in the Irkutsk region a ban has been introduced on the sale of gasoline in any containers - it can only be sold into car tanks.
