Governor Igor Kobzev wrote on his Telegram channel that this measure was introduced to prevent an emergency. This is the second region after the Trans-Baikal Territory to announce a high alert regime.
“Our main task now is to relieve the urgency of the issue associated with insufficient fuel shipments to the region, reduce the rush at gas stations, and establish smooth operation of all services in these difficult conditions,” wrote the head of the region.
As part of the announced regime, the authorities banned the sale of gasoline in any container other than a car tank. The canisters will be able to be refilled by ambulance, rescue and other services. At Rosneft gas stations, restrictions were introduced - up to 50 liters of gasoline per car per day.
🔶Earlier in Irkutsk they began installing biotoilets for people queuing for gas stations. The day before, the governor announced plans to solve the shortage problem with the help of Rosneft, which has fuel: the network was going to redirect gasoline to other gas stations.
