Police in Irkutsk reported the arrest of four resellers who were trying to sell gasoline at inflated prices.

Police in the Irkutsk region drew up four reports on local residents who tried to resell gasoline at inflated prices, the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

The protocols were drawn up under the administrative article on carrying out business activities without state registration or without special permission (14.1 of the Administrative Code). In three cases, gasoline was sold on the Internet, and in another, near a gas station.

One of the violators, a 20-year-old local resident, posted an advertisement on an online platform for the sale of fuel at a price of 250 rubles per liter, the Ministry of Internal Affairs clarified. Following the announcement, operatives arrived at the “deal.” Police did not provide details about the other three cases.

• The day before, the governor of the Irkutsk region, Igor Kobzev, announced that a high alert regime was being introduced in the region in order to prevent an emergency situation due to the gasoline crisis. Kobzev also recommended that the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the department of the Russian National Guard “ensure the observance of public order in queues” and noted that it is necessary to stop attempts to sell fuel that “go against the law.”
