The authorities of Irkutsk have put gas stations on duty to prevent citizens from buying gasoline in cans. Fuel resellers began to be detained in the city

After the introduction of a high alert regime, employees of the city hall, police and department for combating economic crimes began to be on duty around the clock at gas stations in Irkutsk, local authorities said .

“We see that almost every driver is trying to buy gasoline in reserve, thereby slowing down the queue by three times,”

- said Deputy Mayor of the city Sergei Gavrin.

In the video published by the mayor’s office, the official himself regulates the queue at the gas station and notes that “cars began to move much more actively.”

At the same time, the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on the detention of fuel resellers. It is reported that three local residents were selling gasoline online, and another was selling gasoline next to the gas station.

A 20-year-old Irkutsk resident posted an advertisement for the sale of gasoline at 250 rubles per liter - approximately 3.5 times more expensive than the average price. Instead of buyers, security forces came to meet him.

Administrative protocols were drawn up against all detainees for illegal business activities (Article 14.1 of the Administrative Code).

• The day before, the head of the Irkursk region, Ivan Kobzev, introduced a high-alert regime, under which local gas stations will dispense no more than 50 liters of fuel per car tank. At the same time, for trying to buy gasoline in cans, you face a fine of up to 30 thousand rubles under an administrative article (Article 20.6.1 of the Administrative Code).
• Previously, Irkutsk authorities installed dry toilets near gas stations due to hours-long queues. The mayor of the city, Ruslan Bolotov, called the situation “complicated.”
