Today is June 29, the 1587th day of the war. In this issue, we summarize the week in the Volga region and tell how the Russian invasion of Ukraine continues to change life in the regions.

In the program:

— Synchronized strikes: A new wave of UAV raids on the Volga region. Kstovsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Orenburg region and Ufa were under attack. Experts document damage at local refineries and the only helium plant in Russia.

— Fuel crisis for the “four”: Endless queues at gas stations, empty display boards and hidden inflation. Independent analyst Boris Aronshtein declares the beginning of a full-scale regional fuel crisis in the Volga Federal District due to the cumulative effect of attacks on refineries.

— Hard limits: Authorities in dozens of Russian regions have officially limited the sale of fuel. Samara Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev banned refueling in cans and set strict limits for individuals, and the acting Minister of Agriculture of Bashkortostan Ramil Nuriakhmetov admits panic among farmers before the harvest campaign.

— Sale of “national treasure”: The authorities of Bashkortostan sold a 6% stake in Bashneft to the state company Rosneft for 14.8 billion rubles. While officials are wrapping the deal in a patriotic wrapper, economists are sounding the alarm: the region is simply eating away the heritage of its ancestors in order to close a huge budget hole.

— A cry for help from Syzran: Residents of a house on Astrakhanskaya Street, where a drone flew in back in April, recorded a desperate video message to Putin.

— Loss statistics: “Idel.Realii” established the names of another 396 natives of the Volga region who died in the war. Bashkortostan retains its absolute and terrible leadership in the number of confirmed victims in the region and throughout Russia.
