Akhmat fighter who beat his neighbors was killed in the war in Ukraine
During the war in Ukraine, a former member of the Chechen fight club "Akhmat" Jihad Yunusov was killed - he went to the front after beating two residents of Grozny. It is unknown whether a criminal case was initiated against him. Local authorities promised that he would “suffer a well-deserved punishment.”
The death of Yunusov was reported by the Chechen movement NIYSO. According to activists, initially there was supposedly an agreement that he would not participate in the assaults and would spend the contract period away from the front line. However, on the spot he had a conflict with the commander. “He solved the problem in the usual way for the Russian army - he simply “zeroed” his subordinate, sending him to a place from which they usually do not return,” the movement claims.
NIYSO does not disclose the source of this information. When and where exactly Yunusov died is unknown.
In May, a recording appeared in which the athlete attacks his neighbors because their CCTV camera in the entrance was filming his door. After the publication of these shots, Yunusov was expelled from the Akhmat club, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Chechnya announced the start of an inspection - its results were not reported. The incident was also commented on by the Minister of National Policy, External Relations and Information Akhmed Dudayev. He promised that “the culprit will receive the punishment he deserves.” Soon Yunusov announced that he was leaving for the front as part of the Sever-Akhmat regiment.
Opposition Chechen blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov called Yunusov “one of the favorites” of the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov.
