Russian airlines have almost 20% of their fleet idle this summer
11 Russian airlines, providing more than 90% of all passenger traffic, have 130 of their 673 aircraft idle this summer - this is 19.3% of their fleet, Kommersant calculated .

As Kommersant notes, only the Aeroflot group, which includes three airlines: Aeroflot, Rossiya and Pobeda, fits into this standard. The aviation group's fleet includes 349 aircraft, of which 37 do not fly - that's 10.6%.
The remaining eight airlines collectively have a third of their fleet idle – 93 out of 322 aircraft. S7 airline has the largest number of aircraft: 33 out of 104, that is, a third of the fleet. Ural Airlines has 10 out of 51 aircraft not flying, Utair has nine out of 59 aircraft idle, Nordwind has 12 out of 27, Smartavia has 3 out of 13, Red Wings has 5 out of 26, charter Azur Air has 6 out of 23, and Azimuth has 4 out of 19.
According to Kommersant, the main reason for the increased downtime this year is the prolonged maintenance of aircraft.
