The universal necessity of ideas and terms existing in the everyday life of contemporary art does not mean for its representatives of compulsory following once and for all the chosen ideological strategy. The artist is not a slave to his role, but a free bird, fluttering from thought to thought and from project to project. And the sketched “silhouettes” are random and fragmentary not because of the author’s laziness, but because of the mobility of the characters, randomly picked up from the list of participants in the “workshop”.
The exhibition itself, however, disappointed precisely by the fact that the “best artists of Russia” shown on it turned out to be slavishly true this time, without throwing the portions of fresh spectacles to the public. Saissible and random, she demonstrated some fundamentalist stubbornness of her heroes and their loyalty to the old strokes. The stubbornness that is impenetrated by any impressionisms of artils.
