The surroundings of Lake Firvalsted and located on its shores are the ancient city of Lucerne - the famous tourist region of Central Switzerland. The festival, founded in 1938, includes more than 80 concerts, which have about 110 thousand people. Throughout the twentieth century, conductors Wilhelm Furtwengler, Herbert von Karayan and other stars of the first magnitude performed here. Since 1988, the festival has been taking place in a new building built on the embankment according to the project of architect Jean Nouvel and similar to a huge ocean liner (in the photo). In addition to concert halls, there are also conference rooms, restaurants and a museum of fine art. In the lobby is twilight and reddish neon illumination, as in a nightclub; Ladies joke that they look younger in such light. A flat roof protected from the rain with a canopy is exactly the upper deck of the ship. Tickets cost from 14 to 200 euros.
