It’s difficult to say exactly what Valery Mikhailovsky’s troupe is now: its head is no longer young, so even for the ballet parody for which this troupe is famous, there may be some overkill. But the reputation of the Male Ballet is enviable: they are the only people who parody female ballerinas, not vulgarly, but accurately and funny. And the fans are also inescapable: reverently enthusiastic bacchantes in mohair jackets and high boots, throwing bouquets at their favorites, this is a separate spectacle in itself.

Everything about this ballet is alarming - from the capital B, with which “bamboo” is written on the poster, to the fact that the choreographer Elena Bogdanovich herself came up with the costumes. The creator claims that “only environmentally friendly materials” are used in the ballet. Just in case this is important to you. Strict vegetarians are, presumably, not allowed in - the dancers are clearly hostile squirrels.
