Mitya Aleshkovsky, Chairman of the Board of the “Need Help” charitable foundation
Regular charitable donations, when some amount, even a very small one, is automatically debited from the account, is not yet a mass phenomenon in Russia, but such a trend does exist. Technologically, more and more foundations are providing this opportunity, and many people actually donate regularly. In our “Help Needed” fund, depending on the month, such donations range from 20 to 50% of the total amount; In October, a million rubles were collected. Of course, we strive to ensure that they become the main base: this will allow
It’s important to calculate who and how we can support. But I would not say that every foundation in Russia already has a base of so-called recurrent donors - unfortunately, this is not the case yet. In order for this trend to become everyday life, we still have to walk and walk.
In general, nothing good awaits charity in 2016. People have less and less money, more problems. Small foundations have already seen their donations drop by several orders of magnitude. At the same time, there are a lot of requests. As for who is more difficult to collect for?
money, and for whom it is easier, then there are no unexpected trends. The worst help is given to alcoholics and drug addicts. They are not helped at all, I would say so. Raising one hundred thousand rubles for a rehabilitation center for such people is catastrophically difficult, almost impossible, while raising one hundred thousand rubles for a dying child is a matter of twenty minutes. People are also quite willing to help the elderly, animals and nature protection projects. And only then - for adults. In principle, they are gradually starting to donate to the treatment of adults, but so far with difficulty.
