Boris Filanovsky, composer
Young people learned about the existence of a huge field of new academic music.
Not suddenly, of course, but because basically it is she who uses the network, various services, blessed torrents, and so on. New music is so comprehensively diverse that it satisfies every search query (in every sense). And they began to go to such concerts more, because in academic music (even very quiet) a powerful transformative effort is hidden, it encourages the listener to make physical contact, to commit
presence, being in sound reality - and not just looking at curious network artifacts. At the same time, the new music is atomized, as is the very structure of these requests: a rhizome, everyone is their own playlist, ... [leave me alone], millions, that's all. I think there is little to predict here; any forecast speaks rather about the prognosis, about what point in the rhizome it is located. Personally, I don’t have enough data to make predictions. Moreover: as an inhabitant of the rhizome, the future is not very interesting to me. Your immediate musical surroundings
I form the behavior myself, and I can only influence it further statistically. I won’t be original: our state is capable of ruining everything it touches, and by definition is not capable of any initiatives - especially since today it is getting deeper and deeper into the relic of the mobilization economy of art, incompatible with rhizomatic reality. We must stay away from officialdom, using its money whenever possible.
