Play by P. Pryazhko. Directed by F. Grigoryan. Starring A. Balabanova, A. Galinova, D. Grudovich, A. Rebenok, I. Glinnikov and others. Some people, I think, saw Philip Grigoryan’s performance “New Year”, in which the actors practically do not speak. Minsk playwright Pavel Pryazhko, on the contrary, experiments with words.

The secular debutante Dasha Zhukova opened in Moscow, in a former bus garage designed by the architect Melnikov, the first realistic contemporary art gallery of a completely Western level - and all year there was nothing but talk about it.

Swiss scientists have been preparing for six months to launch the Large Hadron Collider, a 27-kilometer tunnel in which tiny particles can be accelerated and collided. It was discussed for one reason: opponents of the collider said that when it was launched, a black hole could appear that would swallow the entire Earth. The sad adventures of two sad Irish bandits who decided to sit out in a quiet Belgian town. A sad, charming and witty movie, which from about the middle of the film begins to unwind like a compressed spring and turns out to be not at all a tragicomedy or Tarantino-like humor, as it seems at first. Unfortunately, sadness, irony, and especially witty dialogues were completely killed by the Russian dubbing, as a result of which the audience left the show somewhat puzzled.

One of the best films of the year directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. A powerful, ruthless, never-sagging story of oil industrialist Daniel Plainview, crawling towards success, wealth and prosperity with the frenzy of a wild beast. A frame that looks like faded turn-of-the-century postcards; monologues immediately turned into quotes (“I hate most people. I want no one else to succeed”); the absolutely inimitable Paul Dano as the hysterical Protestant preacher. Rare, unique, great cinema.

Surely no one could have expected this: veteran John Rambo woke up from many years of hibernation and groaningly set off to save yet another helpless citizenry in yet another hot spot. Shot by Stallone himself, “Rambo 4” suddenly turned out to be not a postmodern finale of a heroic epic, not a joke or a joke, but a real, in the spirit of the 80s, merciless action thriller, which in a good way should be watched not in HDVD format and not on a plasma panel, but on some old VCR.
