"There has never been any Svetlograd!"
The laws on “decommunization” by the Ukrainian president were signed more than a year ago: May 15, 2015. Since then, thousands of streets were renamed in the country, the cities of Artemovsk, Ordzhonikidze and Dnepropetrovsk have turned into Bakhmut, Pokrov and Dnipro, respectively. The last name was once considered an informal “nickname” of a millionth city on the Dnieper, like the Russian “Peter” for St. Petersburg, now everything is officially. It is brought on maps and poinants.
