The extinction of the aristocratic world of the mid -19th century, the decomposition of traditions and the decline of high culture in the historical tape “Leopard” is calmly explored by the director of Lukino Visconti, being a representative of one of the oldest clans of Italy. The canvas about how the noble foundations are destroyed, and they are replaced by the values of the nouveau riche, received the main award of the 1963 Cannes festival, bypassing even Fellini's sweet life.
