Crimean Tatar political prisoner denied release despite serious illness
A court in Vladimir has refused to release Crimean Tatar journalist Amet Suleimanov, who was sentenced to 12 years in prison, due to his health. He needs a heart valve replacement, and suffers from shortness of breath, lung pain, leg swelling, and high blood pressure. In addition, Suleimanov was diagnosed with a new disease - hypertensive angiopathy of the retina. The convict cannot read or write for long periods of time, his eyes are constantly watering.
