There was, as fashionable political philosophers would say, a clash of two civilizations. What did Havel carry?

The subject of my observations will not be the political protest movement of Garry Kasparov and others like him. His “Russia” is, in fact, part of the political spectrum of domestic megacities and is not “different” at all, but very similar in social composition to the parties and movements opposing it. Another Russia is the 100 million population of the provinces, which lives by completely different rules and is guided by different values, unlike the capitals.

The Other Russia submitted a list of candidates for deputy from the opposition coalition to the Central Election Commission. The list was approved at the All-Russian Congress of the Opposition Coalition held on September 30. The federal three included Viktor Gerashchenko, Garry Kasparov and Eduard Limonov. In addition, Kasparov was chosen as a single presidential candidate from the opposition.

The discussion, which was initiated by the former director of the Czech Cultural Center in Moscow, Tomas Glanz, included Vaclav Havel, Sergey Kovalev, Lyudmila Alekseeva, Arseny Roginsky, Vladimir Lukin, Grigory Yavlinsky, Boris Dubin and others.
