Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika promised to investigate the massacre of civilians in Chechnya himself. He reported this on Wednesday in a letter to the Commissioner for Human Rights in the republic, Nurdi Nukhazhiev, writes Gazeta. We are talking about the shelling by federal forces of a column of refugees, which, according to Nukhazhiev’s office, occurred near Grozny on October 29, 1999, that is, at the beginning of the Second Chechen War.

In the summer, when it is easy to spend the night in the mountains and easily feed, the war season begins in the Caucasus. Messages about shootings, counter -terrorism operations and other battles come from the Caucasus every day, and an inattentive look will not figure out the difference between what is happening in different republics. Meanwhile, there is a difference - and not just significant, but a fundamental, as well as possible characterizing the nature of the federal Russian government.

Miracles happen in our country, simply miracles! Because I don’t remember a case where any decisions of the supreme power were adjusted under public pressure, moreover, when these decisions were actually canceled. And not just the public, but ecologists, whom the supreme authorities don’t care about, because ecologists are holy fools who only get in the way with their butterflies, bugs and flowers.

The statement of the Prosecutor General can only be welcomed. Whether this statement will be followed by any real actions is another question. We remember that often not only the Prosecutor General, but also regional-level leaders and even top officials in the state took control of murder cases, including even deputies. And we know how such cases most often ended. I would like to hope for a positive outcome, that the investigation will be carried out and will have some result.

St. Petersburg communists are ready to appeal to the Moscow Patriarchate with a request to canonize Stalin if his name takes first place in the ranking of the most outstanding Russians, which is currently being conducted as part of the “Name of Russia” project. “If he wins, we will turn to the Russian Orthodox Church with a request to consider the issue of canonizing Stalin. Lenin for the Church was a communist, and Stalin was a true national leader.

The Russian Prosecutor General's Office refused to extradite to Ukraine the former deputy head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vladimir Satsyuk, suspected of poisoning President Viktor Yushchenko. Ukrainian media reported this with reference to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine. The reason for the refusal is the fact that Satsyuk is a citizen of the Russian Federation.
