The Chamber stood up
The Public Chamber promised to look into why former Yukos lawyer Svetlana Bakhmina was denied parole. A number of chamber members appealed to President Dmitry Medvedev with a request to pardon Bakhmina. Back to Dionysius
How was it possible to resist last Sunday and not watch the first talk show on the Rossiya channel with the participation of 12 experts, each of whom represented one of the finalists of the “Name of Russia” project. The speakers, however, disappointed, even Viktor Chernomyrdin, from whom, as usual, non-trivial verbal moves were expected.

Throwing Akela
I’ll make a reservation right away: I considered and continue to consider Eduard Limonov one of the brightest and most talented Russian politicians, and his organization as the most capable, effective, and possibly numerous in our country. (It is clear that purely bureaucratic, inflated from above, both “Russias” do not count.

Meath and Meath
It is possible that the former deputy head of Rosprirodnadzor Oleg Mitvol will soon become one of the leaders of the Yabloko party and will be responsible for elections, political and financial issues. Kommersant writes on October 15, with reference to Mitvol himself and representatives of Yabloko, that negotiations are underway on this topic. This issue will be finally resolved at a meeting of the party bureau and its congress.

Daily Journal:
If there was confidence that the request for pardon would be heard, then there would be no need to write letters. It’s just that several people, private individuals who are members of the Public Chamber, came to the conclusion that such a letter needs to be written, because in this situation it is immoral to keep a person behind bars. If Anatoly Kucherena said that he would look into the reasons for such a court decision, that’s great, I will take part in this, because I am on his commission.

Heart break
Athletes often say: play this match as if it were the very last in your life. But none of them, of course, are going to die on the field... On October 13, Alexey Cherepanov, a 19-year-old hockey player from Omsk Avangard, was included in the list of national team players for the first time in his life. A dream come true. He was probably in a very good mood when he went out to the match in Chekhov against Vityaz that evening. Shortly after the start of the game, Alexey scored the puck.
