As a result of night talks in Moscow between Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Yulia Tymoshenko, some kind of consensus was born around the price of gas. Russia will provide Ukraine with a 20 percent discount on the European price for gas supplies, and Ukraine in return will maintain the preferential rate for the transit of Russian gas at the 2008 level.
