Daily Journal:
Our demands are due to the fact that representatives of the Left Front consider the government’s actions to protect citizens from the crisis to be ineffective. The course the government is taking will, by definition, not be able to protect the majority of citizens from mass layoffs and, accordingly, from a sharp drop in living standards.

Hunt for the Gods
This photo came to me by mail from a Pakistani journalist friend. It didn’t immediately dawn on me what was shown in the photograph – the frame was taken with a mobile phone camera. But then I realized that this was the disfigured face of Buddha from Jahanabad, one of the most famous ancient monuments of Pakistan. “They were there again,” the caption read. Who these “they” are is clear without explanation – fighters of radical Islamic groups.

Russia at the UN: we have no problems with human rights, and those that exist were inherited from the USSR
Our state was preparing to present a national report on the state of human rights in Russia to the UN on Wednesday as if it were a large-scale special operation. The delegation was headed by Minister of Justice Alexander Konovalov. And, towering head and shoulders above Russian officials, he gave out the final instructions half an hour before the start of the meeting.
