On October 27, film director Sergei Govorukhin, son of film director Stanislav Govorukhin, author of films about modern wars in Russia, died of a cerebral hemorrhage. He was 50 years old. Govorukhin Jr. participated in combat operations in Tajikistan, Chechnya, Afghanistan and Yugoslavia as a war correspondent. In February 1995, he was wounded in Grozny, as a result of which he lost his leg.
