Russian world or Church of Christ?
A considerable part of the Orthodox Christians in Ukraine attach some extraordinary religious significance to their unity with Moscow - church, and ideally, both political and state. The first is still somehow understandable: after all, the UOC-KP, headed by Patriarch Filaret, is not recognized by the rest of the Orthodox churches and is considered “non-canonical.” So the desire to maintain communication with the canonical church hierarchy as a whole is understandable.
