In recent years, the armed forces have turned into one of the main, if not the main instrument of the Russian government. The annexation of Crimea, the secret war in the Donbass, the overseas operation in Syria - it was they who made Vladimir Putin a military leader, caused extraordinary enthusiasm among most citizens.

Last fall, the European Court of Human Rights ruled that the verdict of Navalny’s brothers in the Yiv Rocher case was “arbitrary and unreasonable”, and most importantly, he accused Russia of violating the 7th article of the Convention on the Protection of Human Rights. That is, the ECHR stated that decisions in the case were made "not exclusively on the basis of the law." In other words, he admitted that the court was politically motivated.
