Conflict of interests between government and society
The past elections in St. Petersburg with a turnout of about 30% and Beglov’s “victory” in the “elections” with the removal of real competitors, with stuffing of ballots and falsification of protocols, acutely raised the issue of aggravating the conflict of interests between those in power and ordinary citizens. Non-participation in the elections showed: there is a conflict, but how is it understood by Russians? What determines people's actions? Their interests and needs.
