Night Watch: Anton Siluanov
The Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation about how he became a biker. How did you become a biker? A.S.: The idea was in childhood, about twelve years old, I was younger than my son is now. My brother rode a moped, and I also really wanted the same moped, one that smelled like gasoline and rumbled loudly. But the parents had no opportunities, times were difficult. And about five years ago I saw my friend Alexander Novak on a motorcycle, and it came to me.

Electronic Russia
Dmitry Filonov Author The course of import substitution in the field of electronics, taken by the Russian authorities in the last two years, has not yet produced tangible results. But this does not mean that Russia has nothing to boast about in the global market. Forbes has collected ten companies of Russian businessmen that are successful abroad. In the overwhelming majority, high results were achieved thanks to the persistence of entrepreneurs, and not assistance from the state. 1.

Why Russia is failing to diversify its exports
TASS/Marina Lystseva Instead of ineffective import substitution, we need targeted support for non-resource companies It is common knowledge that Russia is dependent on oil and gas exports. What is less known is how consistent this relationship is. According to Russian statistics, in both 2000 and 2014, approximately three quarters of exports were made up of four groups of commodities: oil and gas, metals, timber and precious stones.

Protective style
Even yesterday's students can create high-tech production. An example is KillAqua. There is a stack of white paper on the table in the meeting room of FutureTech. General Director Sergei Krupkin takes the top sheet and pours water from a glass onto it. The water freezes into a large trembling drop. The sheet is tilted and the drop rolls down the paper like a ball. “The paper is treated with a superhydrophobic,” explains Krupkin. — This is our new product, suitable for any surface.

Family principle
Vitaly and Olga Muravyov open the first Russian chocolate production in Europe. The Pobeda Confectionery factory in the Latvian city of Ventspils is reminiscent of a technological enterprise in its architectural austerity - glass, metal, gray and red panels. The production will start operating in test mode in December 2015 and will continue to produce chocolate products for export. What's surprising?

A hobby for a businessman can be designing electronic machines and developing fundamental scientific theories. Weekend at the machine On the outskirts of Golitsyno near Moscow there is a quiet street and a wooden hut. It seems as if time has stopped here.
