Emily Brontë may have had Asperger's syndrome
From the book “Venice. History of water and land" Claire Harman, a literary biographer and author of Charlotte Brontë: A Life, has suggested that some of the writer's personality traits indicate the presence of Asperger's syndrome. Harman made this suggestion at the Edinburgh International Book Festival. She noted that reluctance to leave the house, sudden outbursts of aggression and frustration could be symptoms of Asperger's syndrome.
