Nepal, one of the poorest countries in the world, joined the WTO, becoming the 147th member of this organization, writes BBC. WTO membership is expected to give Nepal easy access to international markets, which will help boost the country's economy. In Nepal, industrial production is very poorly developed. Due to this, imports there far exceed exports, which creates a huge foreign trade deficit. Most of the exported products are carpets and clothing.
