US and Iraqi armies storm Najaf cemetery
In the Iraqi city of An-Najaf, fierce fighting resumed between US troops and detachments of the radical Shiite preacher Moqtada Sadr, reports the BBC. At about 7 am local time, American soldiers, supported by two helicopters, launched an attack on the local cemetery, where the bulk of Sadr's supporters, who call themselves the "Mahdi Army", are concentrated.
