Photo from Pokrovsk.info The increase in food prices in Russia in 2008 amounted to 17.7 percent, which is 4.3 times higher than the increase in food prices in the European Union, Interfax reports with reference to the Rosstat data. Food prices increased most noticeably among EU countries in 2008 in Finland (11.3 percent), Lithuania (10.9 percent), Latvia and Malta (by 10.1 and 10.2 percent, respectively).
