Rasmussen: Ukraine and Georgia do not yet meet NATO criteria
NATO does not abandon plans to accept Ukraine and Georgia into its ranks, but so far these countries do not meet the criteria of the organization. According to RIA Novosti, this was announced on Friday by NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen. "We know perfectly well that at the moment they do not meet these criteria," the Secretary General said, adding that Georgia and Ukraine would still become NATO members. On this issue, he said, "a very clear decision" was made.
