Photo from the Federal Archive of Germany 70 years ago, on September 12, 1943, the German paratroopers, led by Otto Skorzeny, released Benito Mussolini, who was under arrest at the Kampo Emperor Hotel in the Mountain District of the Grand Sasso region of Abruzzo. The security was not resisted, but due to the accidents of the planners, the 31 paratrooper died and 16 were injured.
