1979. The overthrow of Shah Iran
Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi at 21 35 years ago, on January 16, 1979, in Iran, during the Islamic Revolution, led by Ayatollah Khomeini, Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi was overthrown. He fled to Egypt. From there, the shah, so formally and did not renounce the throne, went to Morocco, then to the Bagams and further to Mexico. The new Iranian authorities demanded his issuance. England refused the Shah at the entrance, fearing to worsen relations with Tehran.
