He was one of the initiators of the Christian "Samizdat" of the 1960s. Until the mid-1980s, his works were published mainly abroad under the pseudonym E. Svetlov, A. Bogolyubov, A. Pavlov. The smallest was a spiritual mentor, and often the godfather of many dissidents.
