1935. The death of the aircraft "Maxim Gorky"
80 years ago, on May 18, 1935, the largest Soviet aircraft ANT-20 Maxim Gorky crashed. 49 people were killed, including 6 children. On board were members of the family builders. The reason for the disaster was that the pilot Nikolai Blagin, who piloted the I-5 fighter, who accompanied the passenger plane, tried to describe a dead loop around Maxim Gorky on command from the ground. At the top point, the fighter hung and, having lost speed, collapsed down on the ANT-20.
