1940. Joseph Brodsky was born
Brodsky at the University of Michigan. 1972 75 years ago, on May 24, 1940, the Russian poet Joseph Alexandrovich Brodsky, the Nobel Laureate in 1987, “For Comprehensive Creativity, imbued with clarity of thought and poetic intensity”, was born. In January 1964, Brodsky was arrested on charges of parasitism and sentenced to five years of exile, but under pressure from the world community was returned from it in September 1965.
