year 2000. Lynching of Israeli soldiers in Ramallah
15 years ago, on October 12, 2000, two Israeli army reservists, Vadim Nurzhits and Yosef Avraami, were killed by a mob in the Palestinian city of Ramallah. They got lost and were detained by the Palestinian police. An angry mob, having learned that two Israeli soldiers were being held at the police station, stormed the station and beat both reservists to death, desecrating the corpses. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak ordered the lynchers to be caught to be tried in Israel.
