2011. Terrorist attack at Domodedovo airport
Five years ago, on January 24, 2011, a suicide bomber, 20-year-old resident of Ingushetia Magomed Evloev, detonated a bomb at Domodedovo airport. 37 people died, 170 were injured. The Caucasus Emirate, headed by Doku Umarov, took responsibility for the attack. After that, luggage control at the entrance was introduced at all Russian airports and major railway stations, which created long queues - an ideal target for terrorists.
