1996 The Case of the Copier Box
Twenty years ago, on June 19, 1996, members of the Presidential Security Service detained showman Sergei Lisovsky and an employee of Yeltsin's campaign headquarters, Arkady Yevstafyev, with a photocopier box containing 538,000 dollars while leaving the Russian Government House. The money was intended to pay for the artists who participated in Yeltsin's election campaign. After interrogation, Lisovsky and Evstafyev were detained, but soon released.
