1682 Streltsy riot in Moscow
335 years ago, on May 15, 1682, an uprising of archers began in Moscow. They were dissatisfied with the fact that 10-year-old Peter Alekseevich was proclaimed tsar, bypassing his older half-brother Ivan. The boyars Miloslavsky, Ivan's maternal relatives, incited the rebellion of the archers. The rebels killed several boyars, including those from the Naryshkin family - relatives of Tsar Peter.
