1892. General Vladislav Anders was born
125 years ago, on August 11, 1892, Polish General Vladislav Anders was born. Being in Soviet captivity, in 1940 he miraculously escaped death in Katyn, as he was “prompt interest” for the NKVD. In 1941-1942 he headed the Polish army created in the USSR, which he led to the west through Iran. Then he commanded Polish troops in North Africa, in Italy, he was the commander in chief of the Polish forces in the West.
