1972 Il-62 crash near Moscow
45 years ago, on October 13, 1972, on the shore of Lake Nerskoye (the north of the Moscow region), a Soviet Il-62 aircraft crashed while flying on the route Paris - Moscow. All 174 passengers and crew were killed. At the time, it was the worst plane crash in the world. All systems of the aircraft before its impact with the ground were working normally. The weather also could not be the cause of the fall: horizontal visibility 1500 meters, light wind, temperature +6°.
