1937. Shot by the poet Nikolai Oleinikov
80 years ago, on November 24, 1937, Nikolai Makarovich Oleinikov was shot. On July 3, 1937, he was arrested as a "participant in the counter -revolutionary Trotskyist organization." Together with Oleinikov, the Leningrad Orientists accused of espionage, including Japanist Nikolai Nevsky, who was well familiar with, and his wife, Japanese Yorodzuya (Mantani), were shot in one case.
