1998 Murder of General Rokhlin
Twenty years ago, on July 3, 1998, Lieutenant General Lev Rokhlin, State Duma deputy, head of the Movement in Support of the Army and one of the leaders of the opposition to President Boris Yeltsin, was killed in his country house near Moscow. Initially, the widow of the general, Tamara Rokhlina, confessed to the murder of the general on the basis of a family quarrel.
